ABOUT ME:
Photography, for me, started with a high school photography class in 1972. We learned the basics of exposure, developing, lighting, and printing. When our boy's basketball team went to the state tournament the photo teacher sent the SLR along with me to get photos of the games (we won the championship). I was able to get some great shots that wound up in the yearbook. For that I became the photo editor for the next year's yearbook. In college, whenever possible, I took photography courses mainly to access the darkroom. After college, but before I started my teaching career, I sold photo gear in a north Seattle camera store. I moved to the digital world about the year 2000 when I was still able to trade in my darkroom gear, and purchased a Nikon 990, which was about as good as you could get at the time without going to the DSLR's of the time. Eventually I moved from that camera to the Canon Xsi, and still shoot in the Canon line.
I shoot mainly landscape and macro photography, but occasionally take sports, portraits, and product photography.
